Study Background
Do you drink after a hard day or just to relax? Individuals whose drinking is affected by stress & anxiety may be eligible to participate in a UTHealth Center research study.

There are a number of approved medications for alcohol use, but none of these medications address the role that stress plays in alcohol consumption.

Our research study aims to understand how targeting stress-related systems in the body can decrease alcohol consumption.

Participation in this study may help researchers find ways to decrease stress reactivity in those who drink to cope.
