Why is this study being done?
The purpose of this study is to recruit control participants to learn about the relationship between substance use and cognition, impulsivity, and response to stress in adults.
Is this study for me?
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Key Criteria:
  • Age 25-55
  • Lives within 25 miles of Minneapolis
  • General Good Health
  • Occasional drinking and/or smoking
What will happen if I participate in the study?
Participants will be asked to attend two in person visit at the University of Minnesota each lasting about two hours to complete surveys and computer tasks to assess cognition and stress response. Participants will be asked to complete tasks to evaluate memory, planning, problem solving, decisions making, impulsivity and response to stress. Participants will complete an IQ tests and provide biological samples.
Will I be paid for being in this research study?
You will be compensated up to $150 for participation in this study.
Will it cost me anything to participate in this study?
There is no cost to participate.
