Study Background:
Roughly 10% of the US adult population lives with symptoms of PTSD. This condition can lead to people living their life with constant
nightmares, trouble engaging in social activities and hamper relationships with relatives and friends.

NYU researchers are studying the biology of PTSD and how it impacts emotional learning and memory. We would like to enroll individuals with current PSTD symptoms and those with no current/past psychiatric diagnoses.

This is an in-person compensated research study that may be available to you. Find out if you are eligible!

Why are these studies being done?
These studies aim to better our understanding of the biology of emotional learning, memory, and PTSD.
Are these studies for me?
You could be included in one of the studies if you meet the following criteria.

  • Males and females aged 18-70 years old
  • Current PTSD symptoms OR no current/past psychiatric diagnoses
  • Able to travel to NYU Langone for multiple visits
What will happen if I participate in one of the studies?
Participants will complete:

  • a screening interview
  • MRI scans
  • Blood draw (for female participants)
Will I be paid for participating?
Participants will be compensated a minimum of $200 and a maximum of $480 upon study completion.
Will it cost me anything to participate in any of the studies?
There is no cost for you to participate in any of the studies.
