Help our researchers find better treatments for opioid users.
Our research study aims to reduce the stigma associated with methadone treatment, improve the quality of life of opioid users in recovery, and reduce the potential for relapse. Individuals who are in a methadone program, currently taking 60-120 mg daily may qualify.
Our team will be in close contact with participants’ methadone maintenance providers before, during, and after enrollment in the study.

Our research study aims to reduce the stigma associated with methadone treatment, improve the quality of life for individuals recovering from opioid use, and reduce relapse.
You may qualify for a study if you meet the following criteria.
- Age 18-59
- In recovery from opioid use
- Be in methadone program & taking 60-120 mg daily for at least 3 months
Our team will have close contact with participants’ methadone maintenance providers before, during, and after enrollment in the study. Eligible participants will be admitted to the general clinical research unit at NYSPI and remain there for 34-44 days.
Patients can earn up to $12,017 for their participation in the study.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research study.
