Study Background
Participate in a compensated research study that will help Johns Hopkins CIR researchers find a new treatment to prevent Dengue fever. Did you know that millions of cases of Dengue infection occur worldwide each year? Dengue fever (also called dengue hemorrhagic fever) is a mosquito-borne illness that occurs in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. A severe case of dengue fever can cause serious bleeding, a sudden drop in blood pressure, or death. Additional Information
We want to study a medication to prevent dengue virus infection. We want to find out more information about the medication and see if the medication will prevent you from getting DENV infection. In the future, we hope the medication will be used in travelers to help prevent them from getting dengue virus.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

- 18-55 years old
- Generally healthy
This is a 3-month study consisting of:
- 1-2 Screening Visits
- 3 Days in our Inpatient Unit
- 21 Outpatient visits
Compensation up to $4,175 is provided for participation in this study.
