About this research study:
Researchers hope to better understand differences in how men and women experience hunger and how those differences may impact food consumption.
Our research team is working to better understand how the body responds to food. We also plan to learn more about how hormones and the menstrual cycle affect these responses.

Why is this study being done?
Because diet and eating behaviors are core contributors to weight gain, we want to get an improved understanding of those processes.
Is this study for me?
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Between the ages of 18 and 45
  • No metal or electronic devices in your body
  • Currently not using hormonal contraceptives
What will happen if I participate in the study?
You will be asked to come in for two separate study days, during which you will complete
some questionnaires and a noninvasive brain scan, using an MRI. Women will repeat this process in two different phases of their menstrual cycle.
Will I be paid for being in this research study?
Compensation up to $370 is provided for participation in this study. You will also receive free Fitbit.
Will it cost me anything to participate in this study?
There is no cost for you to participate in our research program.
