About Our Research Studies
Our projects aim to understand how young people access and use healthcare and barriers to accessing these services. We also aim to test PrEPresent, a smartphone application designed to provide health and wellness information and resources relevant to young people interested in accessing PrEP in the Los Angeles area. Our research will allow us to understand intersectional identities, minority stress, and learn more about HIV, drug use, and mental health risk factors. Your participation will help us find new interventions designed to reduce this risk by addressing minority stress and intersectional stigma. Check eligibility today! |

Our studies aim to better understand how young people are accessing healthcare and what puts individuals at risk for HIV.
You may be eligible to participate in one of our studies if:
- You are between the ages of 16-26 years old
- You identify as Black, Latinx, or mixed-race
- You identify as MSM, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and/or questioning
- You live in Ventura, Kern, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange County, or LA County
Our study will last for up to 5 years. Participants take an online survey, administered by a research assistant and complete COVID-Safe STI/HIV and Drug testing at CHLA. We meet with participants at our office once every six months for about 2 hours.
Participants receive $55-$110 per study visit.
About 2 hours of your time would be needed every 6 months
