The goal of our study is to develop and evaluate different interventions aimed at increasing Disulfiram (Antabuse) medication adherence.
Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is one of the most prevalent substance use disorders in the world. Among those who become abstinent, relapse rates are high, particularly in the first 90 days of sobriety.
Disulfiram (Antabuse) is an effective treatment approach. However, is underutilized, primarily because of the supervision and monitoring required for it to be effective.
The goal of our study is to develop an intervention capitalizing on the Wisepill technology to pair real-time medication monitoring with tailored real-time triggered reminders, real-time abstinence support, and relapse prevention SMS texts for individuals with AUD being treated with Disulfiram.
