The purpose of our study is to look at the link between mood and the brain in teens.

By participating, you will help investigators better understand, prevent, and treat adolescent depression.

We are recruiting both parents who have and have not experienced depression and their healthy teenagers to participate in our research study.

Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating factors that put young individuals at risk for depression.

Is this study for me?
You and your child may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Key Criteria:
  • Your child is a healthy teen between the ages of 12-15
  • You are a parent with or without a history of depression
What will happen if I participate in the study?
Participation in our study would entail:

  • One visit to McLean Hospital
  • One MRI scan
  • Questionnaires
  • Computer tasks
  • Clinical interviews
  • Follow-up surveys via email and zoom
Will I be paid for being in this research study?
Your child can earn up to $327
Will it cost me anything to participate in this study?
