Study Background
Researchers at the City University of New York want to learn more about how language develops in children 4-5 years old.

Our study is designed as an interactive game where your child will talk to a puppet about animals. It involves one short 20-minute Zoom call. We've designed this study to be fun, convenient, and safe!

Participation in this study is confidential and all data collected is private. Check your child's eligibility today!

Our study will evaluate how language develops during childhood.
Is this study for my child?
Your child may qualify for this study if he/she meets the following criteria.

Key Criteria:
  • Between 4 and 5 years old
  • English is your child's primary language
What will happen if my child participates in this study?
Our study is fun! It is designed as a game where your child talks about animals with our puppet friend. It is not stressful.

Our study is convenient! There’s one 20 minute Zoom call and a short written survey about your child’s language use.

Our study is safe! Our research is overseen and reviewed by the CUNY Institutional Review Board, and we welcome you to be present during the study.
Will my family be paid for being in this research study?
Participants are offered a $25 for their participation

There is no cost for your family to participate in our research program.
