Do you drink often? Are you living with HIV? You may be a good fit for our research study.

Our researchers have developed an integrated behavioral video telehealth intervention designed to reduce
unhealthy alcohol use among people living with HIV. We hope to help patients increase overall functioning, and foster their ability to achieve their long-term life goals.

Is this study for me?
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Eligibility Criteria:
  • 18 years and older
  • Have a confirmed HIV diagnosis
  • Drink alcohol often
What will happen if I participate in this study?
Following baseline assessment, participants will complete two weeks of EMA (ecological momentary assessment) on their smartphones to measure alcohol use, chronic pain, physical function, and mechanisms of behavior change for alcohol and pain management. Following the two-week phase, participants will be randomly assigned to either the intervention or control condition and meet the interventionist through videoconferencing.

Participants will complete outcome assessment measures at 3 and 6 months post-baseline (via a remote structured interview. Following the 3-month outcome assessment, participants will complete another EMA burst of 2 weeks.

You will be compensated up to $315 for your participation.
