About this research study
Researchers are investigating the correlation between common sleeping patterns and increases in inflammation.
You don't get sleep during the work-week and are forced to "catch up" on sleep over the weekend. This is a common sleep pattern that people go through that can lead to flares in the inflammatory system which never properly recovers. Unfortunately, this ongoing inflammation in your body is involved in the development of many human diseases.

The study is investigating a solution that could provide a new approach to mitigate inflammation in your body and potentially future disease risks in those undergoing periods of sleep restriction. Researchers believe it's crucial to identify a solution given these sleep behaviors are unlikely to go away in the near future.
Additional Information
Why is this study being done?
This study aims to investigate a new way to reduce the harm caused to your body through bad sleeping habits. Your participation in this study could help you through developing new sleep behaviors and further a solution for others struggling with sleep restrictions.
Is this study for me?
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Criteria:
  • Between the ages 18-65 years
  • Sleep daily between 7-9 hours, verified by electronic sleep diary data for two weeks
  • Do not use illegal substances
What will happen if I participate in the study?
If you qualify for the study and decide to take part, you will be tested under three, 11-day in-hospital stays, during which participants will be exposed to control sleep or common patterns of sleep restriction-recovery. The three in-hospital stays will be combined with preemptive administration of low-dose aspirin or a placebo.
Will I be paid for being in this research study?
Compensation is up to $7,065 for those who are eligible and complete all aspects of the study.
Will it cost me anything to participate in this study?
There is no cost for participation in this study.
